KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How many times did Valentino Rossi win MotoGP?

Rossi triumphed in MotoGP 115 times overall.
  • What is Rossi's celebration trophy made of?

The trophy was created by Brembo using parts from the first braking system Rossi used on his debut in 1996, as well as the braking system he used in his final MotoGP race in Valencia in 2021.
  • The celebration trophy was presented to Rossi on Friday during the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano Circuit in Italy.

“Valentino Rossi is simply one of the greatest chapters in the history of Italian motorcycling. It is an honor for us to be able to award him with this unique trophy, which underlines his unbreakable bond with Brembo. I thank Valentino on behalf of the company for having always been with us and for allowing us to bring continuous innovation to every type of sports bike on which he has competed and won,” Brembo Chief Executive Officer Daniele Schillaci stated.

Every bike that Rossi rode, including Cagiva, the Aprilia 125 and 250, the Honda 500 and MotoGP, the Yamaha MotoGP Factory and Petronas, and the Ducati MotoGP bikes, were equipped with Brembo brakes.

The unique trophy awarded to Rossi represents the extensive and fruitful partnership between “The Doctor” and Brembo. It was created by Brembo using parts from the first braking system Rossi used on his debut in 1996, as well as the braking system he used in his final MotoGP race in Valencia in 2021.

Rossi participated in 432 GPs, earning over 6,350 points. He triumphed 115 times overall and 89 times in the premier class.

He achieved a podium finish 235 times in his entire career, including 176 in MotoGP.

Rossi is the only world champion to have won in four different classes — 125, 250, 500, and MotoGP.

Over 26 seasons in the World Championship, Rossi has used Brembo brakes over 110,000 times that he most likely has worn out the most Brembo parts of any rider — over 450 front discs, over 1,000 brake pads, and over 280 liters of brake fluid.
