The said facilities are expected to be finished by 2028.Scheduled to commence this year, the two new facilities will be the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer’s Corporate Building and Quality Assurance Center. The two offices are expected to be completed in 2028.
Complex upkeep
According to Yamaha Motor Company Limited, the construction of the two new buildings serves as an upkeep of sorts for the company’s complex in Shizuoka Prefecture.
The marque has moved to its headquarters nearly 55 years ago and has made the city the heart of its manufacturing operations, and continued its journey as a Kando-creating company under its corporate mission of offering new excitement and a more fulfilling life for people all over the world.
Of note, Yamaha Motor Philippines — the brand’s subsidiary in the country — has previously invited Zigwheels Philippines, along with select motoring media outlets from other parts of the globe, to its complex in Japan.
There, we were previewed some of its technologies, and were even toured inside its factory to see its newly established CN1 carbon-neutral mass-production painting line.

However, the current buildings — Yamaha Motor Company Limited pointed out — are presenting challenges that include aging facilities, insufficient space, and the dispersion of functions.
To address the abovementioned concerns, the company has decided to construct the said buildings. The said facilities will also help consolidate functional departments on headquarters grounds, bringing greater operational efficiency and enhancing organizational capabilities.
Additionally, Yamaha Motor Company Limited noted that the office environment for the two new structures is designed to facilitate the flexible working styles that have become the norm in the post-COVID era, combining working from home and coming to the office, while promoting communication that transcends traditional team and departmental boundaries.

It is designed to have eight above-ground floors with a total floor area of 27,524 square meters (sqm).
The office concept for the Corporate Building is Waku Work!, which loosely translates to excitement and engagement. Themes planned to be used for the building include the following:
- Flow - encouraging the movement of people
- Open - fostering communication across departments
- Wellness - creating a workplace where employees can work in good physical and mental health
By following the above concepts, Yamaha Motor Company Limited aims to create an environment in which the employees are encouraged to deliver Kando to people around the world, and cultivate a Waku Work! Spirit.
From a disaster-prevention point-of-view, the building will adopt a base-isolation structure to strengthen business continuity. In addition, the design aims to maximize energy efficiency, achieving both reduced operating costs and a lower environmental impact.

The planned Quality Assurance Center will act as the central hub for quality assurance operations for Yamaha Motor Company Limited.
It will comprise six above-ground floors with a total floor area of 11,444 sqm.
Quality assurance-related functional departments and facilities that are currently dispersed across seven buildings will be consolidated and upgraded. As the central base for quality assurance duties for all businesses, the Quality Assurance Center will further strengthen efforts aimed at ensuring full regulatory compliance, as well as the delivery of high-quality products and services.
Moreover, through the consolidation of quality assurance-related offices, the building is expected to not only improve operational efficiency and coordination but also promote more active sharing of quality-related information and expertise, thereby further strengthening the development and awareness-raising of quality assurance personnel.
