Suzuki India hits 10-M motorcycle production milestone

MANILA: Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited has achieved an accumulated motorcycle production of 10 million units. 

It took the company some 20 years to reach the said feat, which was recorded on January 8, 2026. 

The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer’s Indian arm currently produces 13 models, with the milestone unit being the Suzuki Access. 

“Reaching the 10 million production mark reflects the trust of our customers, partners, employees, and all stakeholders. SMIPL has continued to grow along with the expansion of India’s motorcycle market. Going forward, we will put ‘By Your Side’ into practice, not only by strengthening our production capacity and expanding our sales and service network, but also by staying close to our customers through activities that allow them to experience the appeal of Suzuki,” Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited Managing Director Kenichi Umeda was quoted as saying.

Continued expansion 

With its apparent growth, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited is expanding its foothold in the Indian motorcycle industry by constructing a new plant in Kharkhoda to increase its production capacity. 

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited not only supports the Indian market but also exports to other regions such as the Southeast Asian, Latin American, and European markets.
