MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has begun production of the new-generation Nissan Navara and Rogue plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

Thailand, Japan-made
According to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, it started production of the Nissan Navara at its Laem Chabang Plant in Thailand on December 20, 2025.
Of note, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has produced the Triton, Montero Sport (also called Pajero Sport), Mirage, Xpander HEV, Xpander Cross HEV, and XForce HEV in Thailand.

The Mitsubishi Auto Gallery, which is kind of a museum of sorts, is also located within the same complex as the facility that now builds the Nissan Rogue PHEV.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation pointed out that both the Nissan Navara and Rogue PHEV made in its factories will be sold in their respective markets in the first quarter of the year.
Tangible Alliance outcome
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation — who a few years ago bought back its shares from Nissan Motor Corporation — said that its move to produce the Navara and Rogue models is a tangible outcome of its Alliance partnership with the Yokohama-headquartered manufacturer.
“Through these initiatives, Nissan enhances its product lineup, while Mitsubishi Motors improves its plant utilization, forming a mutually beneficial partnership,” Mitsubishi Motors Corporation explained.
“Mitsubishi Motors will continue to strengthen its regional businesses and expand its product portfolio through various partnerships, while accelerating efforts to enhance profitability,” it added.
Turning a new leaf?
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation mentioned that it is scheduled to receive original equipment manufacturer supply of an all-new electric vehicle (EV) model derived from the new Nissan Leaf.
