Inside, the cabin of the Maserati Ghibli might not be the flashiest in its segment, but its minimalist design still looks and feels very premium. This luxury sports sedan has a 2,998-mm wheelbase. The Trofeo variant runs on sporty-looking 20-inch wheels for a more premium appearance, while the rest are given 18-inch wheels. 

Upfront, the Maserati Ghibli flaunts the Italian brand’s iconic Trident emblem that is embedded in its signature front grille with classy chrome accents. This luxury sports sedan features a very assertive-looking flare courtesy of its full LED adaptive matrix headlights, which use the power of 15 LEDs for top-notch visibility on the road. The Trofeo variant comes with an exclusive bonnet with air extractors for a sportier and more premium facade.

On the sides, all variants come with triple air vents. The Trofeo variant has red air vents, while the GT Hybrid features the blue version for a more distinct silhouette. Sharp character lines and a beautiful contrast of colours give its side profile more depth. This luxury sports sedan also has another Maserati Saetta emblem on its C-pillar. Similar to the air vents, the Trofeo has a red lightning bolt on its emblem, while the GT Hybrid gets the blue counterpart.

Meanwhile, it features a classy, distinct-looking back end, accentuated by boomerang-shaped LED tail lights. This luxury sports sedan gets a power tailgate for easier loading and unloading of cargo. Additionally, a quad exhaust system adds more sportiness to its overall appearance. 

In terms of suspension, all models except for the Trofeo variant come with MacPherson Struts at the front and Multi-Links at the rear. The Trofeo variant features Maserati’s Skyhook suspension setup for a more enhanced driving experience overall. 

Regardless of the setup, this luxury sports sedan handles sharp turns or corners with ease and precision. It delivers impressive grip and control even at high speeds. Its steering is also responsive. The Maserati Ghibli comes in three powertrain options. First, the Trofeo variant is powered by a 3.8L V8 engine that produces a maximum power output of 580 hp and a maximum torque of 730 Nm. Its max speed is 326 kmph.

Second, the Modena variants are powered by a 3L V6 engine that is tuned differently, resulting in different power and torque outputs. The Modena S and Modena S Q4 variants’ V6 engine produces 430 hp and 580 Nm of torque. Both variants have a max speed of 286 kmph. On the other hand, the base Modena gets a V6 engine that produces 350 hp and 500 Nm of torque. This variant has a top speed of 267 kmph.

Third, the GT Hybrid variant runs on a mild-hybrid system that combines a 2L, 4-cylinder engine with a 48V motor. Its hybrid powertrain generates a maximum power output of 330 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. Its max speed is 255 kmph. 

All variants run on a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission system. In terms of drivetrain, the Modena S Q4 variant utilizes an all-wheel drivetrain, while the rest run on rear-wheel drive. This model line comes with three driving modes: Normal, Sport, and I.C.E (Increased Control and Efficiency). The Trofeo variant also comes with a Corsa mode.

Regardless of the powertrain, the Maserati Ghibli offers a lively and very satisfying cruising experience on the open road. Its powertrains produce a very eargasmic roar, which can definitely catch the attention of fellow drivers and regular bystanders nearby. You’ll be able to overtake slower vehicles on free-flowing highways with this luxury sports sedan.
