The Morris Garages (MG) ZS electric vehicle (EV) is the all-electric version of the ZS crossover nameplate.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the price of the MG ZS EV in the Philippines?

In the Philippines, the MG ZS EV is priced at P1.839 million.
  • What is the electric cruising range of the MG ZS EV?

The MG ZS EV has an electric cruising range of 320 kilometers, as indicated by the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure.
  • With the ZS being popular in the local market, many who are deciding to transition to more sustainable, all-electric rides might be considering the ZS EV. It does, after all, have plenty of good inherent qualities, which can make it a competent daily driver.

For starters, its powertrain can output 174 horses and 280 Newton-meters of torque. It also has a Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure-indicated range of 320 kilometers, regenerative braking, and a lot of exterior features.

Plus, it comes with a slicker, more modern version of the MG ZS’ dashing good looks, complemented by an array of interesting color options and a set of sporty 17-inch wheels.

But the question now is: what is the interior of the MG ZS EV offering? Let’s find out here to help the model’s prospective buyers.

    Abundance of tech

Like most of its electric-powered competitors in the Philippine automotive scene, the MG ZS EV is brimming with onboard technologies.

For starters, it was kitted out with a 10-inch central infotainment display linked to a four-piece speaker system. Handling smartphone connectivity for the said screen is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth.

Additionally, the vehicle is also equipped with a seven-inch driver information cluster, a 12-volt accessory socket, and a total of five USB ports.

Safety for the ZS EV, on the other hand, is primarily handled by its dual front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability program, hill-hold control, ISOFIX, tire pressure monitoring system, and cornering brake control - among others.

The said safety features are also reinforced further by the following advanced driver assist systems:

    • Adaptive cruise control
    • Lane-keeping assist system
    • Blind-spot indicator system
    • Automotive emergency braking
    • Pedestrian warning system
    • Intelligent headlight control system

    Plenty of driving features

Apart from boasting loads of tech, the MG ZS EV’s cockpit has a lot of features dedicated to making driving easier and more convenient.

To make maneuvering in tight parking spots easier, the model has rear parking sensors, as well as a decently clear video feed from its 360-degree-view camera.

Additionally, it has well-arranged controls for its electronic parking brake, dial-type gear selector, and push-to-start button. Finding one’s preferred position behind the wheel is also made easy thanks to its tilt-adjustable steering column and its six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat.

Other driving-oriented features inside the car are as follows:

    • Day and night rearview mirror
    • Front center armrest
    • Leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel
    • Two cup holders
    • Rain-sensing wipers
    • Remote starting

    Comfortable and stylish

Other than the features mentioned above, the MG ZS EV’s interior likewise carries a refreshingly minimalist look anyone would enjoy.

Its 10-inch infotainment screen, for instance, is positioned neatly just above the silver-trimmed central air-conditioning vents on the flat-topped dashboard. More silver trimmings are positioned on the interior door panels, and the vehicle also has plenty of soft-touch surfaces all around.

A majority of the cabin, including the seats, is clad in black leather, which ensures durability and ease of cleaning.

Keeping everyone inside the EV model cool is an automatic climate control system with rear vents. The electric version of the ZS also has a 64-color ambient lighting system, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and a lot of cubby holes for storing small items.

Likewise available to the ride is a panoramic sunroof, which will serve to liven up the mood during overcast days. Having a sunroof on road trips may also hype up the fun with the family, especially when going on out-of-town vacation stays.

    Final thoughts

On paper, the MG ZS EV has been shaped to be a competent crossover when it comes to safety and providing comfort to its occupants. Coupled with its emissions-free powertrain, it presents good value for would-be car buyers.

Folks who are serious about getting the MG ZS EV, however, should give it a thorough test drive first. Doing so will make one more acquainted with the vehicle and will make for a more informed purchase in the end.
