Top five 2015 car launches in Philippines

MANILA: Philippines automobile market has grown in a good manner. Many renowned automakers are targeting Philippines market for launching their latest vehicles. The Philippines market is young and growth oriented. Filipinos are looking for more sporty and reliable vehicles for every day commuting. Thus, the automobile manufactures are keen to put more engineering force in order to meet people's expectation. As the year has come to an end, we bring you glimpse of top five cars unveiled in 2015. These vehicles created much demands in the country and the people welcomed them with love and delight. The automakers have also shown up a good record in the sales chart and received good number of order soon after the launch. These vehicles offer generous space and best brand technology.

Ford Focus (Php 1,088,000 – PhP 1,278,000)

Ford Focus comes with sleeker profile than its predecessor. The new model is hard to compare with other vehicles available in the segment due to the stuffing it has been given. It sports a bold and trapezoidal front grille employed to its front fascia. The interior comes equipped with latest features like SYNC functionality that allows you to make call, text and message using voice commands. It is powered by a powerful 1.5L EcoBoost GTDi engine that churns out a maximum power output of 180 hp and 240 Nm of peak torque. You get both power and fuel economy in a single engine.

Chevy Trax (Php 998,888 – PhP 1,218,888)

The Trax is a named as "City-Smart Urban SUV”, which is one of the compact crossovers manufactured by Chevrolet. It comes with a dynamic and sporty body design along with swept-back headlamps. The dual-port grille and badge add an extra point to the front. It offers a seating arrangement for 5 passengers, allowing 1,371 litres of luggage space in the rear. Trax is powered by a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The central console features Siri Eyes Free digital connectivity installed with Chevrolet MyLink. The entertainment package brings you a 6-speaker audio system with Bluetooth and CD/MP3/USB/AUX connectivity.

Toyota Hilux (Php 776,000 – PhP 1,685,000)

Toyota Hilux has arrived in its 8th generation with improved features and luxury options. This pick-up truck offers a stylish and dynamic design which makes it look tough. The G-variant comes with 6.5 inch Capacitive Touch Screen Display equipped with Navigation. It offers two engine options across the trims, a 2.4L and 2.8L 4-cylinder VN Turbo Intercooler diesel engine offering amazing speed and fuel economy. The engines come mated to a 6-speed sequential automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.

Hilux offers an array of safety features like 7 SRS airbags, EBD, ABS, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, and Active Traction Control. In the month of August, the Pick-up truck emerged as a top choice among other vehicles.

VW Passat (Php 2,253,000 – PhP 2,759,000)

VW Passat is an outcome of advanced built quality along with German technology. It is designed for executive and business classes. It offers seating arrangement for 5 people and the cabin appears roomy with enough head room and leg room. The interior features 12-way adjustable electrically powered seats wrapped under Alcantara Vienna leather upholstery. It offers luxury features like 3-zone Climatronic Air Conditioning, a Discovery Pro Premium, and a panoramic sunroof. The Audio System comes with 8 Speakers system. Passat is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder TSI engine that produces 220 hp of peak power and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission.

Nissan Juke (Php 980,000)

Nissan Juke is designed in a different way, allowing it to bring the thrill and toughness of SUV. You get the excitement of a sports car in this crossover. The body gets unique styling, aggressive front and rear end and bold muscular lines. The Juke offers seating capacity for 5 passengers and the 60/40 split-folding rear seat allows to increase the luggage space in the rear. The centre console comes fitted with a 6-speaker 2DIN display infotainment system and Integrated Control System (I-CON). It also offers different driving modes, namely, Normal, Sport, and Eco. Under the hood lies a HR16DE 1.6L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that churns out 116 hp of power and 154 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission, offering great handling and fuel efficiency.
