While Omoda and Jaecoo are relatively new in the Philippines, the C5 compact crossover has already caught the attention of those who regularly visit Zigwheels Philippines to view the latest car news, up-to-date prices, and car specs. The aforementioned was previously detailed on our list of “most viewed cars for 2025.”

The inclusion of the Omoda C5 is notable since both Omoda and Jaecoo mostly have new energy vehicles (NEV). So, while those have risen in prominence in the country over the years, the C5’s popularity could be taken as a sign that the internal combustion engine (ICE) still has a place in the hearts and minds of local would-be car buyers.

For one thing, the Omoda C5 is positioned as a highly accessible model in terms of price. To be more specific, it retails locally with a price ranging from P998,000-P1.279 million. 

Plenty of other nameplates fall within the said range, but the C5 doesn’t have too many compromises when it comes to exterior design and safety features. 

On the outside, the Omoda C5 wears a very striking, futuristic design with details that help it stand out among other crossovers on the market. In essence, it is a more sportier-looking version of its all-electric E5 counterpart.

Up front, the Omoda-made crossover wears a wide front grille bearing a honeycomb pattern. The aforementioned is integrated seamlessly into its front fascia, meaning that it is not a separate piece, unlike those found on other crossovers. The said grille is flanked by vertical LED headlamp clusters and is topped off by sharp-looking LED daytime running lamps. 

Coupled with its unique-looking face are red-colored trim pieces on its side mirrors, wheels, and side sills. These provide a good contrast against its primary body color. Likewise notable is its black roof and rear spoiler, which considerably ups its style points.  

Also found on the rear of the Omoda C5 are a pair of Y-shaped LED taillights that wrap around towards its sides. 

Other notable exterior features of the model include a sunroof, power-folding/adjustable side mirrors, a power tailgate, and a set of 18-inch wheels. 

Size-wise, the Omoda C5 is 4,400 millimeters (mm) long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,588 mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,630 mm and a ground clearance of 169 mm. 

Additionally, the model has a very strong warranty package - something that will help assuage maintenance fears for would-be owners in the long term. 

Specifically, the C5 comes with a seven-year or 200,000 km (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty. The aforementioned goes together with a 10-year or one-million-km warranty (whichever comes first) for its internal combustion engine. For its engine, the Omoda C5 uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four that is capable of producing up to 154 horsepower (hp) and 230 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). 

Providing stability and handling for the model is a front MacPherson strut and a rear torsion beam suspension system. Stopping power, meanwhile, is handled by four disc brakes for all four wheels. 

Inside the Omoda C5 is a five-seater layout equipped with leather upholstery. Everyone inside is also kept cool by an automatic air-conditioning system, while further eye-candy is provided by an ambient lighting system. 

With regard to driving amenities, the Omoda C5 was equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a drive mode selector, an electronic parking brake, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, and a driver’s seat with power adjustability, as well as ventilation. 

As for the model’s center screen, it comes fitted with a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The said screen is linked to an eight-piece Sony sound system, while topping up devices inside the crossover is done easily thanks to USB ports and a wireless smartphone charging pad. 

The Omoda C5 also gets a comprehensive passive and active safety kit, which is crucial for navigating the type of traffic we currently see on local roads. 

On the passive side, the vehicle has six airbags, anti-lock braking, stability control, traction control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a 360-degree view camera.
