2017 Subaru Impreza launched at Manila International Auto Show

MANILA: After bringing the all-new Forester in the country, the Japanese automaker has now launched the 2017 Impreza at the Manila International Auto Show. The 2017 Subaru Impreza is entirely new and is the first model to be based on the company’s new platform. The new Impreza is wider, longer and has improved wheelbase which results in improved space in the cabin.

The new platform results in the improved structural rigidity which has reached 100% from 70%. The use of high-tensile steel has helped in improved energy absorption by 40%. The new Impreza also features new suspension system and Active Torque Vectoring.

What is the engine specifications of 2017 Subaru Impreza?

Under the hood, the 2017 Impreza is powered by a 2.0-litre direct injection naturally aspirated petrol engine. The engine is mated to Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT. The maximum power output is 156 PS at 6000 rpm while the peak torque measures 196 Nm at 4000 rpm. The power is distributed through a symmetrical all-wheel drive system.

In the cabin, premium finish, comfortable seats, and class-leading passenger room are standard. The other features include a sunroof, 6.3-inch full-color high-resolution multi-function display that depicts information like temperature, fuel economy and other important aspects of the car. An 8.0-inch full-color high-resolution touch-screen display infotainment system with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also equipped in the center to cater media and other prominent needs of the occupants.

In terms of safety, the all-new 2017 Impreza is equipped with airbags, Subaru rear/side vehicle detection (SRVD), steering responsive headlights which move the beam according to the direction of how the car is steered, Eyesight which monitors the traffic movement and optimizes the cruise control in a significant manner.
