2019 Honda Civic gets modulo upgrades

MANILA: After revealing the 2019 Civic, Honda also showcased the Modulo body kits for the same. The modulo kits are available in different options as Smart, Aero Sport and Aero. Each of the kits gets different styles both outside as well as the inside.

The base package among the three is the Aero. It comes with a gloss black strip and a front under spoiler having a deeper front apron. There is also a kit for the rear bumper’s corners where the creases and edges are added. In addition, the kit comes with two unique side skirts which make the stance of the car lower.

The next one is the Smart package, which contains all the features of the Aero package, plus it gets a small trunk lip spoiler. The last one of the list is the Aero Sport kit, where the buyer gets a taller wing in place of the trunk lip spoiler. The wheels get a dual-tone or tri-tone finish with a multi-spoke design.

The kits also add value to the interiors. You get a special gear selector knob, wrapped in leather, standard or illuminated scuff plates and Sport pedals. Moreover, the Modulo-branded child seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heavy-duty rubber mats, trunk tray, and dashcam also enhance the luxurious feel of the interior.

The Modulo packages do not make any effect on the engine trims, as both the 1.8 E and 1.5 RS Turbo variants of the current Civic are present. The 1.8 E engine is tuned to deliver a maximum 141 hp of power along with a peak torque of 174 Nm, while the 1.5 RS turbo mill churns out up to 173 hp of power and the maximum torque is 220 Nm.
