2025 Mazda BT-50 to spice up PH pick-up truck segment

MANILA: Following the teaser posted over its social media page last week, the latest iteration of the Mazda BT-50 has formally reached the Philippine market.

In a statement, Mazda Philippines noted that the pick-up truck’s refreshed offering has received significant enhancements that made it more ready for adventures.

According to Mazda Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan, the nameplate serves “as an integral and important member” of the brand’s roster.

“The current-generation BT-50 was launched in 2021 and since then, has been well-received with thousands finding homes across the country,” Tan was quoted as saying.

“The new BT-50, with its bolder design and long list of standard features goes beyond the numbers. Like other Mazda vehicles which are human-centric in their design, it’s an enabler for life’s passions. With that, it’s a compelling choice, regardless of the task at hand,” he added.

The 2025 Mazda BT-50 has the following measurements:

Its exterior aesthetics express the latest version of the marque’s signature KODO – Soul of Motion design language. It comes in the form of:

• New Black Metallic Signature Wing grille and hexagonal inserts
• Distinct LED headlights with adjustable leveling control
• Updated front bumper has been resculpted (with the daytime running lights adjusted from the fog lamp cluster to the headlamps)
• Fully-functioning integrated air vents with air curtains underneath the front bumper
• Front skid plate 
• Ribbed design along the bottom edge of the tailgate
• New LED taillamps with emergency stop signal function
• Larger Mazda logo
• Body-colored sideview mirrors
• Exclusive alloy wheel designs

Adding more flair and exclusivity to the top variant are:

Interior

For its cabin, the 2025 Mazda BT-50 is outfitted with standard features and accessories that have high regard for ergonomics and functionality. Among those are:

• Nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system (new Human Machine Interface) that is wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-ready
• 360-degree camera
• USB Type C ports
• Abundance of Black and Terracotta leather with Leganu Suede inserts (available only in the Philippine market)
• Toggle switches and physical knobs
• All-weather floor mats

Solely available for the model’s for the top-of-the-line option include:

• Eight-way electronically-adjustable driver seat
• Seven-inch liquid crystal display meter cluster
• 15-watt wireless charger
• Eight-speaker sound system
• Dual-zone climate control with rear vents
• Smart Keyless Entry with Remote Engine Start and Walk Away Auto Door Locks

Powertrain

As mentioned earlier, the 2025 Mazda BT-50 is still powered by a 3.0-liter double overhead cam turbo diesel engine (similarly found on the Isuzu D-Max) that has peak churn of:

Paired to the said mill is a six-speed automatic gearbox with manual mode.

Further, the engine also has numerous tools such as:

These features complement the body’s high-tensile steel frame that gives it a one-ton payload capacity and up to 3,500-kilogram towing capacity.

Available in Red Earth Metallic, Sailing Blue Metallic, Geode White Pearl (which are newly-introduced colors), as well as Ingot Silver Metallic, Concrete Gray Mica, and True Black Mica (carried-over from the previous iteration), the 2025 Mazda BT-50 can be had in any of the two variations namely:

Both options are packaged with Mazda’s Five-Year Free Service Plan that incorporates lubricants, parts, and labor replacements together with the three-year 24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance.

Per Mazda Philippines, the spruced-up model can be viewed in all dealerships starting Friday (April 25). 

Exclusive All-In Downpayment Campaign

Following the launch of the new BT-50, Mazda Philippines also launched its "exclusive All-In Downpayment Campaign" in partnership with East West Bank. Customers nationwide can avail of the special offer from April 25 to July 31 at any of the 13 Mazda dealerships and is  applicable to all BT-50 variants.

Under the limited-time promotion, customers may have the BT-50 4x4 AT Pangolin Edition with a P150,000 all-in down payment, or the BT-50 4x2 AT at P100,000 all-in down payment.

The said computation is based on a 20-percent down payment, with flexible financing terms of up to 60 months. The all-in package also includes chattel mortgage, vehicle registration, and other standard expenses, subject to East West Bank’s evaluation and approval.
