All-New Honda Pilot is Different in Ten Ways, Know How

MANILA: All-New Honda Pilot is the one that will be guarding the front on Honda's border in the start of 2016. With automakers like Toyota and Volkswagen putting forward strong foot in the form of 2016 Toyota Hiace and new variants of Jetta, Tiguan, and Polo Sedan, it is but obvious for Honda to bring something up that is nothing less than a head turner. But the above-mentioned names are not what 2016 Pilot aims to defeat, its eyes are on the ones matching its vital stats- like the recently revealed 2016 Toyota Fortuner and the 2016 Montero Sport, both of which graced the Philippines land in mid-January.

Now, coming back to the new Honda SUV, the Pilot, information about which was revealed by the company in the early hours of the day today on Twitter. Like it has become the easiest and most apt place to open ones Pandora box and take the audience by awe. According to Honda's post, the 2016 Pilot launch is due for February, adding to Q1 glory.

Let us know how the all-new Honda Pilot is different from its older version and what all it carries that makes it a perfect catch in sports utility vehicle segment -

1. Starting off with what one notices first, the exterior body. The new version is any day better when taking in terms of design language. It looks apt to the time and suits the looks conscious gen-next style definition.

2. While the earlier one looked boxy and over the top masculine the new Pilot carries better curves, aerodynamic prone contour line, in all replicating the on-road high-end cars.

3. Multi-reflector halogen headlights are replaced by curvy LED ones, no more 17-inch for the new Pilot, as it now stands on 18-inch alloy wheels, giving the car better support. Also, no more 90's like boring roof spoiler, chrome now rules as can be seen in door handles and loading lip. On the rear, rectangular-stiff looking taillight gets washed away with swapped-back ones, also, the windshield looks better and compliments the entire look.

4. Dimension wise to the new Pilot is better and extended. While the older one measured 4,875 x 1995 x 1845 (LX WX H) mm, the new Pilot dimension reads 4940 mm in length, 1996 mm in width and 1773 mm in height. Wheelbase too now has improved with it now measuring 2819 mm.

5. Inside convenience is increased by the way of – tilt and telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, capless fuel filler, tri-zone automatic control system with humidity and air filtration and much more.

6. On the entertainment front, it continues to feature the 8-inch display audio system that is now accompanied by electrostatic touch-screen and customizable feature setting.

7. Seating arrangement becomes better with the new model. It now comes with ten-way power adjustment driver seat, four-way front passenger power adjustment, and one-touch 2nd row seat.

8. Intelligent Traction Management System, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist along with Honda Sensing are always at an edge with the upgraded model, giving an excellent driving pleasure and 100 per cent greater driving confidence.

9. Under the hood configuration, earlier one housed a 3.5 EXL that gave an output of 257 PS and 374 Nm. The 2016 Pilot engine reads 3.5 litre i-VTEC V6 that effortlessly produces 286 PS of power and 355 Nm of torque.

10. Last but not the least, safety is increased by manifold, so now you will get some stunning features like dual airbags, curtain and side airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, forward collision warning, and road departure mitigation system.

All these changes are making the 2016 version of the Pilot not only a better vehicle but also an expensive one. Though actual all-new Pilot price figures are not yet revealed by Honda Philippines, but let's admit it, each good thing comes with a price tag attached. But be at peace, as each extra penny is rightly justified.
