All-new Nissan Juke gets highest safety marks in Australia

MANILA: After launching the second-generation Nissan Juke in September 2019, this compact crossover has amassed one safety award after another, from Europe and this time from Australia.

It received a full five-star rating, the highest vehicle can score, from the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) in early May 2020 and just days after got the same rating, a solid five stars, from ANCAP (Australia New Car Assessment Program).

It gets a perfect score for adult and child occupant protection in the side impact test, child restraint installation assessment, and scored high as well in other testing areas.

The Juke uses an advanced reinforced structure built with ultra-high-strength steel to improve rigidity, while also allowing the force of an impact to be absorbed and dissipated before reaching the passenger safety cell.

This all-new model, which hasn’t yet hit dealerships in the “land down under”, comes standard with Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Intelligent Driver Alert. All that is on top of automatic LED headlights with High Beam Assist, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, and six airbags.

Top trims will also offer Front parking sensors, Intelligent Cruise Control, an Intelligent Around-View® Monitor, Moving Object Detection, and a tire-pressure-monitoring system.
