Brace yourselves for the 2020 Honda Accord

MANILA: We will very soon see another offering entering the scarce segment of midsize sedans. Although there a few models on offer like the Toyota Camry and the Mazda3, the midsize sedan segment has always been one of the least populated categories in the Philippine automobile market. So, as you have already got to know from the title of the story, it is the 2020 Honda Accord will be landing on the Filipino shores soon enough.

Following the global debut, Honda Philippines brought the 2020 Accord to the ASEAN in March, earlier this year. Furthermore, it was the 2019 Bangkok International Motor Show where the Japanese automobile manufacturer displayed the tenth-generation midsize sedan. The 2020 Honda Accord is bestowed with its trademark 'Solid Wing Face' that has also taken inspiration from the Civic. There is a sporty and muscular bumper along with a pair of brand-new LED headlamps and C-shaped taillights. Moreover, the sedan boasts an alluring looks courtesy of its long hood and short deck profile.

Bolstering the interior of the 2020 Honda Accord are a floating touchscreen infotainment system, new wraparound dashboard, automatic climate control panel, all-leather upholstery, revamped centre console, wireless smartphone charging, and a leather-wrapped three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with both audio and cruise controls. The 2020 Honda Accord gets its power from a 1.5-litre turbocharged motor that generates 190 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 243 Nm. This is the very mill that powers the Thailand-spec 2020 Honda Accord as well. The tenth-generation midsize sedan may come housing the Honda's Earth Dreams-developed CVT gearbox. We should also see paddle shifters making their way to the sedan. Honda also offers the 2020 Accord with a 2.0-litre turbocharged and hybrid powertrains, however, it is highly unlikely for the Philippines to get them here.

Another feature that we are expecting to see on the 2020 Honda Accord is the Honda Sensing safety suite. The highly advanced safety package includes automatic high beam, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, collision mitigation braking, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, road departure warning, and more. For pricing, we better wait for the Japanese automaker officially launch the sedan and reveal the amount itself.
