Bring home the 2019 Kia Sportage for Php 1,545,000

MANILA: It is all about Kia in the news these days, isn’t it? So, the manufacturer, holding hands with Ayala must be on the correct path to find its long lost glory in the Philippines? Well, we believe it is. In the quest of its revival in the Philippines automobile market,

the South Korean automaker has now launched the 2019 Sportage. Joining the all-new Soluto and updated Sorento, the 2019 Kia Sportage should prove to be one of those steps to glory for Kia Philippines.

While the updates on the outside as slight as ever, they do bring along the freshness. Up front, the faux air intakes have been redesigned and also house the fog lamps. The bumper corners have also been revamped and are now much flashy than before. Moreover, the two faux corner air intakes on either end are joined by chrome trim. No, we did not forget, the trademark “Tiger Nose” it is there too.

Moving to the rear of the 2019 Kia Sportage, the bumper here also gets a few updates and the taillamps get revamped housings as well. The new Sportage also gets a new touchscreen infotainment system as standard across the range.

Other new inclusions include revamped air-conditioning vents and climate control system, a dual gauge cluster, and a three-spoke steering wheel with various controls mounted on it. The new Sportage also gets new alloy wheel designs.

Under the hood, the 2019 Kia Sportage continues to feature a 2.0-litre turbodiesel motor capable of producing 185 PS of maximum power at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm between 1,750 to 2,750 rpm. Replacing the old 6-speed automatic transmission unit is a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.

There are no AWD variants and all we have got now in the Philippines are the front wheel drive variants of the Sportage. The new Sportage is available in two trims, namely 2.0 CRDi LX and 2.0 CRDi EX. The 2019 Kia Sportage price for the two variants is Php 1,545,000 and Php 1,820,000, respectively.
