Holding hands with Ayala, Kia begins its new journey

MANILA: Just like the numerous smartphone unboxing videos we see on the internet these days, Kia recently organised an event in Makati where the brand was relaunched in the country via “unboxing event”.

Now under the roof of AC Industrials, which is a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation, Kia looks forward to having a much better future in the Philippine market.

Alongside the relaunching of the brand itself, a new offering in the Philippines market was also introduced. Sold in China as the Pegas, the sedan has arrived in the Philippines with a new name. Called the Soluto, the new sedan has been given a price tag of Php 625,000.

During the event, Fernando Zobel de Ayala, the president of Ayala Corporation, said, “We are excited to introduce Kia’s wide range of model lineup as well as a new brand of sales and service experience for Filipinos. We are delighted to partner with Kia Motors Corporation in this endeavour and we look forward to many years of working together as we re-establish the Kia brand in the Philippines”.

With the partnership with Ayala, Kia becomes the 6th brand to be organised by AC Automotive, the automobile wing of the corporation. The acquisition of Kia’s distribution and operations is a small step by Ayala in order to set AC Automotive’s foot stronger in the Philippine automobile market.

With the launch of the 2019 Soluto, Kia now has six passenger vehicles, namely Picanto, Rio, Sportage, Sorento, Grand Carnival, and Soluto, making up the Kia lineup in the Philippines. Just like this event, Ayala will be organising many more unboxing events in the country to launch new models.

On its new journey, Kia claims to offer better than before competence, availability of parts, aftersales service, along with improved customer service. Kia Philippines also looks forward to extending its reach in the country with opening new dealership throughout the geography of the Philippines. Currently, there are 35 Kia dealerships in the Philippines, and the number will only be increasing as the time moves forward.
