Chevrolet launches all-new Tracker in China, we want it too
MANILA: In April, earlier this year, Chevrolet introduced the all-new Tracker at Auto Shanghai 2019. The SUV came with a much sporty appearance, turbocharged powertrain, and a true to 2019 essence. At less than two months since the debut, Chevrolet has launched the brand-new Tracker in the Chinese market. Targetted at the younger lot of the population, the new Tracker follows Chevrolet’s 'lean muscularity' design philosophy. The SUV gets Z-shaped lines at multiple locations on its exterior and the likes of front grille & bumper, 17-inch alloys, and side mirror caps get black and red accents.
On the inside, Chevrolet has left no stone unturned in order to stuff the new Tracker with intuitive and attractive vibes. For the driver, the SUV gets a three-spoke steering wheel and a dual gauge instrument cluster. On the other hand, infotainment needs are taken care of by a floating touchscreen display which comes equipped with voice recognition, Chevrolet MyLink, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, navigation.
Pop the hood open and you will be greeted with one of the two Ecotec engines. The first of the lot is a 1.0-litre 325T three-cylinder motor that is capable of making 125 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 180 Nm. This engine can be had with either of the six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The second mill is a 1.3-litre 335T inline-three that pumps out a higher 164 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 240 Nm. Gearbox mated to the second engine is a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Along with basic safety features like multiple SRS airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, advanced safety equipment like lane-keep assist, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, tyre pressure monitoring, and a reverse camera has also made its way to the Chevrolet Tracker. How did you like the all-new Tracker? If you ask us, we’d say we love the new Tracker and want Chevy to bring it to the Philippines as soon as possible.
