2020 Chevrolet Tracker to replace the Philippines-spec Trax?

MANILA: Along with the 2020 model of the Trailblazer, Chevrolet has also pulled the covers off its newest sub-compact crossover, Tracker. The Auto Shanghai 2019 has been a treat for SUV and crossover enthusiasts as brands like Volkswagen and Chevrolet have come up with some delicious vehicles one after the other.

Don’t be fooled by the similarities this new Tracker possesses with the Trax as Chevrolet has very clearly cited that the 2020 Tracker will act as an entry-level crossover. The brand also mentioned that this new Tracker is intended to entice more and more young customers in China.

Up front, the 2020 Chevrolet Tracker is adorned by a muscular bumper housing a blacked-out grille in a two-tier setup. The headlamps are all LED and feature an upswept appearance. Just below the mean looking headlamps are the vertically stacked LED DRLs which further enhance the beauty of this beast. Move to the sides, and you’ll find 17-inch ten-spoke blacked-out alloys with red accents. The designers at Chevrolet for sure know about their work, don’t they?

Stuart Norris, Design Director of global Chevrolet compact SUVs said, “The all-new Trailblazer and Tracker are taking us to the next chapter of Chevrolet SUV design. With their lean muscularity, every member of the Chevrolet SUV family is reinforcing the brand’s focus on performance and capability”.

Just like the 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer, nothing is known about the powertrain that this new Tracker will house. However, the automobile universe expects the crossover to get its power from different turbocharged mills. We also expect the 2020 Tracker to offer both manual and automatic transmissions.

In case the 2020 Chevrolet Tracker makes its way to the Philippines and replaces the on-sale Trax, we bet the likes of Hyundai Kona, Ford EcoSport, Mazda CX-3, and others to be given a run for their money by this new Chevy. The price should also be very competitive as the crossover will be sourced from China. For now, let’s hold our horses and let Chevrolet do the talking.
