Electric Vehicle on E-Roads, A New Emerging Theory
MANILA: Electric Vehicles are the new 'it' thing of the auto market. Not that we have not heard of them but it's just that they are slowly becoming more mainstream. What earlier was on papers and seen only in the form of prototypes is slowly getting life. People around the world are accepting this new form of mobility that is both easy on nature and on pocket.
As for that matter, the Philippines market too has shown high acceptance level on the Electric Vehicle front. Recently Electric Vehicle Association of Philippines Taiwan-based wing, TECO Electric and Machinery Co., Ltd., joined hands with Ropali Corporation. Under their plan is included finding new possibilities on the Electric Vehicle front. Also, is included to its 'future soon to deliver report' are 1000 electric Jeepneys and 5000 electric tricycles.
On the global front, we have seen some budding firms that house intelligent minds working on creating smarter electric vehicles. On such country, in particular, is Japan, which is considered as a hub of both conventional and non-conventional vehicles.
Toyohashi University of Technology - Made a Striking Contribution
Est. in 1974 Toyohashi University of Technology in the year 2004 opened the gates of its Future Vehicle Research Center. Since then it has created great masterpieces with only a few among them making it to the mainstream market.
To its recent creation, the company has included a 'no battery' operating electronic vehicle. The no battery part being its biggest USP. As the world has never seen an EV without a fit-in battery heart.
How it runs? A tire-road partnership
This is the biggest question that struck many minds. Well, the secret lies underneath. It's a tire-road partnership that powers the EV and allows it to run. The tires integrate steel wires within that work in close proximity with the metal plates present underneath the roads.
The test drive was conducted on the university build course where the EV covered a 30-meter distance at 10 kmph speed, which its creators claimed was smooth and comfortable.
So, you need an EV enabled road to run this EV breed vehicle.
Pros and Cons of Toyohashi badged EV
On the pro front, the car now weighs way less than the other EV's present around. As this one will not have the bulky battery under its bonnet.
Steel plate embedded roads is its major con. As the same will require a hell lot of infrastructural cost, if any time in future the plan goes live.
