Ford PH spreads Christmas spirit with children from Gawad Kalinga communities

MANILA: Ford Philippines recently hosted a Christmas Party in collaboration with Gawad Kalinga (GK) to provide holiday cheer to underprivileged communities.

150 children from various GK communities in Mandaluyong, as well as from GK Ave Maria in Rizal and GK El Dorado in Parañaque, participated in the in-person Christmas program.

The Pista sa Nayon-themed party was attended by Ford employee volunteers and members of the motoring media. They took on the roles of big brother and sister and joined the kids in a variety of traditional Filipino fiesta games, including pabitin, hampas palayok, Calamansi relay, and Trip to Jerusalem. The children also sang Christmas carols for the audience.

Aside from receiving gifts, the kids also received Christmas grocery packages just in time for Noche Buena. Ford Philippines Managing Director and Ford Government and Corporate Affairs Director Josie Gonzalez were present in the program.

“Helping build and sustain communities remains one of our important advocacies at Ford. Christmas is a season of giving and a good opportunity to share blessings most especially to young children who always look forward to this time of the year. We’re very happy to have returned to in-person celebrations as seeing the smiles from the kids and their families further inspires us to help more and to give more,” Gonzalez stated.

“We thank Ford Philippines for consistently being part of meaningful initiatives and programs such as our annual Christmas outreach,” Gawad Kalinga Chairman Jose Luis Oquinena stated. “We look forward to reaching out to more families and communities in the years to come with Ford as a reliable and valued partner.”
