From March 2020, all Geely cars to feature Intelligent Air Purification System (IAPS)

MANILA: With the evolution of powertrains, safety tech, electric vehicles, and the automobile industry as a whole, automakers are also working day & night in the bid to improve the overall driving experience and ride quality for the masses. Similarly, we are now seeing various carmakers coming up with high-end and much-advanced air purification system inside their cars.

Latest reports reveal that come March 2020, and all of the Geely cars will come sporting the G-Clean Intelligent Air Purification System (IAPS) that will eliminate the unhealthy bacteria and particles from the environment inside the car. The news comes soon after Geely announced that the Chinese automaker will be investing 370 million RMB in the advancement of “healthy, intelligent vehicles”.

It took just 20 days for Geely to develop the Clean Intelligent Air Purification System (IAPS) tech, and that too amidst the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak that has left China in tatters. Following the success tasted by the Geely engineers in such a short period, the Chinese automaker will now equip all of its model with the tech. The Clean Intelligent Air Purification System (IAPS) tech packs in an active carbon chemical filter, which is capable of absorbing harmful particles and gases, especially the likes of formaldehyde. Furthermore, the active carbon chemical filter not only absorbs the harmful elements but also eliminates bad odour.

Moving ahead, the active carbon chemical filter also removes the likes of fungi, mould, airborne viruses, and bacteria. Also, it can sterilise and deodorise the air inside the cabin and provide an N95 respiration system-like air filtration. 150 Geely Jiaji MPVs equipped with the Clean Intelligent Air Purification System (IAPS) tech have already been handed over by Geely to the workers who are fighting against the Covid-19 coronavirus. The Clean Intelligent Air Purification System (IAPS) system is the first stage of the Geely Healthy Car programme that involves an investment of 370 million RMB. In the second and third stages, Geely will join hands with various medical firms and material manufacturers to develop handles, buttons, and other car parts capable of fighting bacteria, virus, fungi, and other harmful elements and ensure a safe ride.
