Geely Motor PH takes over all local biz ops

MANILA: Geely Motor Philippines Corporation (GMP) has officially taken over the brand’s business operations in the country.

Geely Auto International’s newly-created subsidiary said that the move marks a significant milestone for the company as it has transitioned from a general distributor model to direct operations.

Following this, GMP shall oversee all the local business aspects of the brand that will include sales, marketing, customer service, and after-sales support.

In a statement, the company said that the transition highlights Geely commitment to "serving the evolving needs of Filipino consumers."

Per GMP, adopting a direct operation model will bring numerous advantages:

• Closer alignment with market demand will enable GMP to better understand and respond to the specific requirements of the Philippine market — guaranteeing products and services that are more appropriate with consumer expectations.
• Faster response to market changes will be possible with streamlined decision-making processes, allowing for more agile and efficient operations.
• Enhanced customer engagement will be achieved through direct interaction with customers, providing a more welcoming and personalized service experience.
• Quality service will be delivered by taking full control of the customer journey. Finally, the new structure will support more effective business strategies, allowing for better adaptation to local policies and market conditions.

Further, the company shared that it would undergo a significant lineup revitalization in the opening quarter of 2025. Aside from the existing models, GMP plans to introduce more all-new products that will cover various powertrains under battery electric vehicles, hybrids, and internal combustion engines.

GMP will also establish a robust dealership network under a direct operation model.

“This strategy signifies our commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction and fostering long-term loyalty by delivering consistent high value service across all touchpoints. By directly managing our dealership network, we will streamline the customer experience, allowing us to implement standardized service procedures, invest in advanced training programs for our service personnel, and ensure the availability of genuine parts and accessories,” GMP explained.
