Hidilyn Diaz to receive brand-new Kia Stonic from AC Motors

MANILA: The Ayala Foundation named Hidilyn Diaz as “Atletang Magiting” (Brave Athlete) for being the first-ever Filipino to win a gold medal at the Olympics. As a gift of gratitude, AC Motors and Kia Philippines will award a brand-new Stonic to Diaz.

The Ayala Group recognizes Diaz as a modern-day hero for her record-making achievement at the quadrennial summer games. Since 2016, the group has been expressing its support to Filipino weightlifters including Diaz. In 2016, Bank of the Philippine Islands donated training equipment to the Hidilyn Diaz Weighlifting Gym in Zamboanga City. Meanwhile, Ayala Land turned over a check donation to the members of the Samahang Weightliftes ng Pilipinas in 2018.

The recognition given by Ayala Foundation to Diaz is part of its “Maging Magiting” program, a campaign that promotes patriotism and love of country. “Through the Maging Magiting campaign, Ayala Foundation calls on Filipinos to take pride in our heritage and identity, by giving honor to our national emblems such as the flag, while also embodying the call for all of us to be heroes in our own ways,” Ayala Foundation said in a statement.

In a recent Instagram post, Diaz expressed her gratitude to the government and private sectors for helping in her journey to the Olympic triumph. She also thanked her family and friends for the support and prayers.
