Hyundai gains top rank in J.D. Power 2025 TXI Study

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company has emerged as the top mass-market brand for technology innovation in the J.D. Power 2025 US Tech Experience Index (TXI). The brand has achieved this accolade for six years in a row already. 

According to the US-based consumer intelligence organization’s TXI study, Hyundai’s most noteworthy piece of tech is the blind-spot view monitor (BVM) available on the Santa Fe. Notably, the safety feature mentioned is also present in the Philippine-spec version of the said nameplate. 

As Hyundai explained, the BVM ensures safe driving by providing real-time visual feeds of the sport utility vehicle’s (SUV) blind spots. The aforementioned feature is activated whenever the turn signals are toggled, and it operates via side-mounted cameras. 

The use cases for the Hyundai BVM aboard the Santa Fe, as the brand claims, are quite varied. For starters, it is useful for spotting pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users who are passing in close proximity to the SUV. And of course, it can reduce the risk of fender benders with other vehicles on the road during lane changes and turns.

Likewise, the “comfort and convenience award” was handed to the Land Rover Defender for its advanced air purification system. The US-spec Toyota Land Cruiser (Land Cruiser Prado in PH) and the Toyota Sequoia also received the same award for their rear-view camera technologies.  

Hyundai Santa Fe in PH

In the Philippine market, the Hyundai Santa Fe has a price ranging from P1.998 million-P3.33 million across five variants. 

The top-spec trim of the Santa Fe is the Calligraphy hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), which is propelled by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. At maximum, the said powertrain can generate up to 232 horsepower and 367 Newton-meters of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
