Hyundai May 2025 YTD retail volume dips

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) has sold 1,706,088 units as of May 2025.

Based on data shared by the Korean automaker, its year-to-date retail performance for the first five months of the year reflected a 0.2-percent decrease compared to the 1,710,278 examples turned over to customers.

Total sales in its home country for the January-May 2025 are at 292,836 — a 2.4-percent rise from the 285,900 vehicles rolled out to clients in the same period the previous year. Outside Korea, 1,413,252 Hyundai vehicles were sold for the initial five months of 2025 — a 0.8-percent slide in comparison to the 1,424,378 examples delivered to buyers.

May 2025 sales

Last month alone, the company delivered 351,174 vehicles to their clients. Breaking down the figures, Hyundai sold:

In a statement, HMC noted that it will “respond flexibly and with agility to the changing global market environment through local production and sales optimization.”

“The company will particularly focus on maintaining its sales volume of hybrid models, while introducing new models to sustain sales growth momentum,” the company added.

PH market

Relatedly, Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) continues to be within the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated’s (CAMPI) Top 10 brands as of April 2025.

Based on the organization’s data, the Korean automaker’s local arm is at the eighth spot after selling 3,579 units for the initial four months of the year.

Recently, HMPH announced that it will introduce a new offering in the country, which is expected to be the latest version of the Hyundai Kona.
