MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company has launched the new Creta in Indonesia, which boasts a bolder design, turbocharged engine (for select model), and heaps of accompanying accessories.

Exterior
Outside, the new Hyundai Creta boasts a linear fascia with a Black Chrome Parametric Radiator Grille. Flanking the latticework are multi-faceted reflector LED headlamps encased in a quadrilateral housing. Just above are LED daytime running lights connected by a horizontal light strip.
Striking is its black roof, which is complemented by its black pillars. In between its roof rails is a panoramic sunroof. It rides on a set of 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone design.

At the back, the new Hyundai Creta in Indonesia receives LED rear combination lamps that are bridged together by a horizontal light strip, which is set on the crossover’s tailgate. It has a roof-mounted spoiler with an integrated brake lamp.
Interior
Inside, the new Hyundai Creta can be had with either fabric or leather seats depending on the variant. Likewise, it has a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and a gear shifter with a leather boot.
Notable are its display screens. For lower variants, the offering is a 4.2-inch Supervision instrument cluster paired with an eight-inch infotainment unit complemented by a four- or six-speaker sound system.
Higher models get a larger 10.25 instrument panel and a similarly sized (10.25 inches) center screen, which blasts audio to an eight-speaker audio unit.
Powertrain, chassis
Under the hood of the new Hyundai Creta is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (variable intake system) mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or the brand’s intelligent variable transmission, which is basically a continuously variable transmission.
The said setup makes 113 horsepower (hp) with 143 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
Halts and deceleration is handled by ventilated disc brakes front and back. Suspension-wise, the new Hyundai Creta gets a McPherson strut at the fore and a couple torsion beam axle arrangement at the rear.
