Isuzu PH partners with Valtech to further champion technical education

MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has forged a partnership with Valenzuela City Technical College (ValTech) as part of the former’s push to champion technical education and breed the next generation of Filipino automotive professionals.

According to the Japanese marque’s arm in the country, the newly-inked partnership was initiated by Isuzu Inteco, IPC’s dealer-partner in the city.

The latest move builds on the firm’s earlier partnership with IPC’s earlier collaborations with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority training centers in Tacloban and Biñan.

According to IPC, this strengthens its “advocacy for accessible, high-quality technical education — an embodiment of its core values of Responsibility to Society and Country.”

“At Isuzu, we believe that shaping the future of the automotive industry begins with shaping the people behind it. By supporting ValTech, we’re investing in the next generation of skilled technicians—individuals who will uphold the same standards of quality and reliability that our customers expect from Isuzu. Helping develop their potential is also our way of giving back to the communities that continue to support us,” IPC President Mikio Tsukui was quoted as saying.

Turnover ceremony

As part of the newly-forged collaboration, IPC handed over an Isuzu D-MAX 4x2 LS AT and Crosswind XL MT to let students conduct hands-on diagnostic, maintenance, and repair exercises using real vehicles rather than simulators.

Aside from the two vehicles, the company also turned over critical automotive components such as examples of MJT7S and JR405 Transmission Assembly; 4JK1-TC and RZ4E engines; as well as workshop tools.

To complete the setup of ValTech’s training workshop, IPC also gave a tire changer, wheel balancer, and tool balancer—equipment essential for teaching wheel alignment, tire servicing, and tool handling safety, ensuring students master the day-to-day procedures of an automotive technician’s work.

These vehicles and tools will transform the way our students learn—bridging theory and practice and preparing them to step confidently into the workforce. More than the equipment, it’s the trust and partnership that inspire us to continue delivering quality, accessible education to the people of Valenzuela,” ValTech President Dr. Yolanda Gadon said.

Investing in Future Talent

Apart from the donation, IPC will launch a Diesel Technology Training Program for 100 selected ValTech students that will include four days of in-class learning followed by a plant visit to Isuzu Philippines’ facility. This is slated in the first half of 2026.

To note, ValTech is a local government college that provides free technical education to high school graduates, out-of-school youth, and unemployed adults. The institution has also committed to prioritizing IPC and its dealership network when placing future graduates.
