MANILA: Hot on the heels of the successful launch of the J5 HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) at the recently concluded Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines debuted the J5 EV (electric vehicle) at the ongoing 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

Jaecoo J5 EV notable features
While it is essentially the electric vehicle sibling of the Jaecoo J5 HEV, it does sport some features that separate it from its hybrid stablemate.
Specifically, it is driven by an all-electric powertrain comprised of an electric motor that produces 208 horsepower, with a 58.9 kilowatt-hour battery that delivers a driving range of up to 461 kilometers on a single charge.
Photo by Juan Paulo PapaIn addition, the SUV also features a comprehensive suite of 19 advanced driver-assist systems, six airbags, and an advanced 540-degree all-terrain view camera system, which per Jaecoo Philippines provides drivers with enhanced confidence, visibility, and safety across various driving conditions.

Following the introduction of the Luxury variant for the Jaecoo J5 EV, the carmaker’s local wing confirmed that a Comfort variant will soon be added to the local lineup, providing customers with a more accessible option and greater flexibility across the range.
