Lexus is most dependable car brand, says JD Power

MANILA: The JD Power 2021 US Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) revealed that the Lexus ES and GX are the most dependable models in their segments.

Now on its 32^nd year, the study measures the number of problems that the owners have experienced from their three-year old vehicles during the past year. It covers 177 vehicular problems categorized into eight groups: audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN), engine/transmission, exterior, interior, features/controls/displays (FCD), driving experience, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, and seats. A low score means that the vehicle is dependable.

Lexus scored 81 compared to the average of 121, which means that the brand is highly reliable and dependable. The Lexus ES emerged as the most dependable model in the compact premium car category, while the Lexus GX won in the midsize premium SUV category. For the ninth time in 10 years, Lexus was hailed as the most dependable car brand on this US survey.

Lexus ES is best known for featuring the brand’s design direction and commitment toward “crafting vehicles with heightened excitement, emotion, and passion.” The ES combines space, comfort, and safety with a sharpened performance, state-of-the-art technology, and a unique level of craftsmanship.
