Mazda 6 receives a turbocharged gasoline engine

MANILA: Mazda 6, one of the most popular vehicles in the executive car segment, has received an update. The car now comes not only with two different body styles, a sedan, and a wagon, but with two engine variants as well. Along with the torquey diesel variant, that was already available in the market, the car is available with a powerful turbocharged gasoline engine too.

Post update, the vehicle will be available in two engine variant - a 2.2-litre Skyactiv-D variant and a turbocharged 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G engine. The new gasoline engine features a Dynamic Pressure Turbo Technology and delivers a maximum power output of 231 hp along with a maximum torque of 420 Nm. The car goes from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 7.6 seconds, a performance that beats its diesel-powered sibling by 0.2 seconds. 

2019 Mazda 6 SkyActiv-Turbo has kept up with the company’s reputation of offering a supreme-quality interior. Chestnut-coloured Nappa leather seats increase the comfort level of the passengers. Furthermore, the seats are ventilated as well. Mazda has opted for real Japanese Sen Wood trim along with Ultrasuede accents for enhancing the elegance and the style quotient of the vehicle. The company has integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into the Mazda Connect Infotainment System. 

Similar to the Mazda Skyactiv-D, the Mazda 6 Skyactiv-Turbo comes with several features that include Lane Keep Assist, a 360-degree camera, and Blind Spot Monitoring for Rear Cross Traffic Alert. A revamped chassis dynamics, along with an updated steering system gives better handling. For a better riding experience, a redesigned suspension configuration and sound insulating features have also been added by the automobile manufacturer. 

The car flaunts a bolder face along with revised 19-inch alloy wheel design. Other added features include front ventilation, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, electronic parking brake, an 8-way electric driver’s seat with memory, and Adaptive LED headlights.
