Mazda announces lineup for JMS 2025

MANILA: Mazda Motor Corporation has announced its lineup of car displays for the upcoming Japan Mobility Show (JMS) 2025, which is set to open for the public starting October 31, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight. 

Per the Hiroshima-headquartered company, its booth will carry the theme: “the joy of driving fuels a sustainable tomorrow,” hinting at advanced but environmentally friendlier powertrain technologies that will still excite enthusiasts. 

The core of the manufacturer’s booth is the new Vision Model - a concept vehicle that will be unveiled for the first time ever at this year’s JMS.

Also notable is the unveiling of the next-generation CX-5, which is going to be launched in Europe. Unfortunately the brand is keeping mum about the all-new CX-5, and no teaser images for provided for the said vehicle. 

Mazda carbon capture technology, algae fuel

Also premiering at the JMS 2025 is Mazda’s in-house developed carbon dioxide  capture technology. 

No further technical details were shared about the aforementioned, but Mazda says that it is a system that is able to further reduce CO₂ emissions from vehicles as they travel. The said system goes together with the brand’s algae-derived carbon-neutral fuel.

Other Mazda displays at JMS 2025

Apart from the ones mentioned above, Mazda will also participate in the JMS 2025’s Mobility Culture Program by displaying the RX-7 and the Spirit Racing RS Future Concept Car No. 12. 

The Mazda RX-7, of course, is a significant nameplate in car culture, mainly due to its rotary powertrain, timeless design, and numerous appearances in various motorsport events, such as the 24 hours of Le Mans, the 24 hours of Daytona, and the IMSA Bridgestone Supercar Series - among others. 

The Spirit Racing RS Future Concept, meanwhile, is a Super Taikyu Series competitor based on the Mazda MX-5. It will also be showcased at the JMS 2025’s “Performance Zone - Demonstration Run” using next-generation fuels. 

At the Tokyo Future Tour 2035 section of this year's JMS, Mazda will highlight the CX-30 SeDV (Self-empowerment Driving Vehicle) - a special build of the CX-30 that was customized to meet the needs of differently-abled individuals.
