MG 3, G50 Plus to arrive in PH soon

MANILA: MG Philippines will launch the MG 3 hatchback and the G50 Plus multi-purpose vehicle early next month.

And while we’re waiting for the local arm of the SAIC-owned British car brand to introduce the aforementioned nameplates in the country, here are some of the available specs of the MG 3 and G50 Plus abroad.

In the Middle East, the MG 3 is powered by a 1.5-liter, which makes some 109 horsepower with 142 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.

Outside, it boasts sleek features like its “hunting-eye” headlamps, “light-trailed” taillamps, 16-inch alloy wheels. Its cabin amenities include seats with a diamond pattern, a racing-style steering wheel, a seven-inch instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system.

A hybrid version of the MG 3 has been confirmed for the Philippine market.

The MG G50 Plus — which is a rebadged Maxus G50 — also packs a 1.5-liter mill that dishes out some 166 horses with around 250 Nm of pulling power.

It has a striking large grille complemented with LED (or halogen) headlights. It can seat up to eight occupants and has a 12.3-inch infotainment system.
