Moovr launches improved rides, mobile app

MANILA: Moovr, the first-ever electric scooter and bike sharing app in the Philippines, unveiled its newest rides and improved mobile application.

The upgraded e-scooters and bikes feature new designs that are more visible even at nighttime.

Now electric-powered, the bicycles are equipped with 12-inch tires, durable drum brakes, thicker seat pads, and a sturdy basket. It is also 25-percent lighter and offers a much smoother ride than the previous version.

Likewise, the scooter is now more lightweight and comes with a better suspension than the previous model.

Both rides also come with phone holders, allowing riders to use navigation apps. Their batteries also deliver an 85-kilometer range in one full charge.

According to Moovr General Manager Anna Moncupa, the platform has seen an increased ridership since the new rides were launched.

“A lot of the people that used the e-bikes said that it was their first time actually riding an e-bike because it's not exactly the most accessible device in the country, so we're very happy to pioneer that. Hopefully, it will encourage people to cycle more,” Moncupa told Zigwheels Philippines.

For the mobile app, Moovr also introduced new features, including encrypted payments that lets riders save their details and top up with just one tap. The app also features a new adaptive user interface that allows riders to see parking areas and ride details such as availability, rates, and battery levels.

“With our latest update, we’ve applied comprehensive features that don’t just make every ride efficient but an enriching exploration… Our commitment to innovation and user-centric design aims to inspire a sense of empowerment with every ride,” Moovr Head of Operations Shiela Raña stated.

Moovr e-scooters and e-bikes are available in Bonifacio Global City, Mckinley Hill, and Makati City.
