Mugen parts for Honda Civic Type R costs a huge Php 1 million

MANILA: Mugen, Honda’s own modification unit, has unleashed some amazing parts for the Honda Civic Type R. Interestingly, Mugen has not announced a kit that comprises of various parts, instead, customers can choose from an array of products for their Civic. Pretty much every part but the hood of the Civic receives a mod.

For the exterior, Mugen is currently offering side skirts, carbon fibre grill garnish, front bumper garnish, front & rear under spoiler, tailgate spoiler, and carbon fibre door mirror covers. Other sensuous mods include LED taillights, hydrophobic LED mirrors, and a set of 20-inch forged aluminium Mugen MDCF alloy wheels. For the inside, customers can get a Mugen quick shifter for those quick shifts, Mugen start/stop switch, Mugen steering wheel, Mugen MS-R seats by Recaro, sports matting. There is also an array of gear knobs available. Customers can choose a knob that suits their taste.

Speaking of the most important factor, price, the Mugen parts for the Honda Civic Type R are not cheap or affordable by any means. The cheapest of the lot is the front bumper garnish at ¥ 44,000 (Php 21,000). The Mugen seat and steering wheel can be had for ¥ 264,000 (Php 125,000) and ¥ 89,100 (Php 42,000), respectively.

Front & rear under spoiler, side skirt, and Mugen wheels will set you back by good ¥ 807,840 (Php 383,000), while the carbon fibre grill garnish comes for ¥ 96,120 (Php 46,000). As a whole, the complete set will cost you around Php 800,000. Note that these parts do not yet include the sports exhaust, adjustable rear wing, and the carbon fibre hood. With that said, the complete Mugen kit for your Honda Civic Type R should cost somewhere around Php 1 million easily.

Adding salt to the injury is the shipping cost, which is not including in the cost of the parts. So, the endnote of the story would be that while the Mugen kit is certainly an amazing piece of art, it definitely isn’t for everyone.
