New Lexus LS marries art and performance

MANILA: Lexus Philippines recently launched its flagship sedan, the all-new LS, that features a well-crafted interior space designed by takumi master craftsmen.

As the Lexus LS focuses on luxury craftsmanship, the Japanese carmaker offers personalization to perfectly suit the discerning taste of each customer. The Lexus LS Hybrid 4-Seater Premier variant exclusively gets a traditional Japanese kiriko glass art ornamentation to highlight the luxury sedan’s interior.

The rear seats are equipped with a retractable ottoman to support the calves of passengers. These also come with adjustable seat cushions for more premium comfort. The power-adjustable seats are upholstered in premium semi-aniline leather and offer seven massage programs. The seats are also installed with infrared rays matrix sensor which detects each passenger’s body surface temperature so it can automatically adjust the cooling or heating for each occupant.

Another standard feature on the LS Hybrid 4-Seater Premier variant is the premium Mark Levinson Surround audio system with 23 speakers. It can be easily connected to a smartphone as it comes with Apple CarPlay support and Android Auto integration.

The Lexus LS 500 is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that provides high-powered driving performance and a hybrid power plant for better fuel economy. The sedan gets a direct-shift 10-speed automatic transmission. It also has an artificial intelligence shift control with a drive mode switching control that automatically selects the optimum gear based on the vehicle speed and the amount of accelerator operation. The LS 500 is also engineered with an adaptive variable suspension that adjusts the suspension damping while in motion to generate an ultra-smooth road performance.

To ensure first-class safety to all its occupants, the Lexus LS is equipped with the Lexus Safety System 2.0 (LSS + 2) which targets to prevent the three most common types of road accident: frontal collisions, lane departures, and nighttime accidents. The new LS also comes with adaptive cruise control, adaptive high beams, and lane-keeping assist with lane departure alert.
