MANILA: After successfully transplanting the brain of their operations to Indonesia, autofans have highly awaited the announcement of the new head for Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI). In the latest turn of events, Mr. Ramesh Narasimhan who served as the CFO for Nissan Australia, has been transferred to fill the position that has been left vacant since the departure of former President Mr. Antonio Zara. This means one might get to see some fresh new changes in company’s marketing direction for the Philippines, with the possible introduction of some new Nissan vehicles in the future.
The news was made public by Nissan Motor’s head of marketing and sales for Asia and Oceania Ms. Yutaka Sanada, who was happy to appoint an experienced official such as Mr. Narasimhan to ensure a positive market growth. She also identified the Philippines as one of Nissan’s key markets in Asia-Pacific and has lended full support to NPI in all business aspects. She also expressed her gratitude to Mr. Zara under whom, the sales for Nissan saw a 60% growth in the past two year period.
Mr. Narasimhan has been a long time finance officer with several years of experience with handling the operations for Nissan in Oceania region (Australia & New Zealand). It will certainly be an exciting time to see such experience put to use in the Philippines, where the brand enjoys moderate amount of sales. Although the new appointment has been made public by Nissan Philippines, the official welcome for Mr. Narasimhan will be done after Nissan’s Board of Directors meeting this month.
