    Along with black painted external mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, a six-speaker audio system, and remote engine start, the 2023 Nissan Versa SR adds a number of sport-inspired interior and exterior design elements.

    The SR receives several upgrades for 2023, including a center console with an armrest, an 8-inch touchscreen, Intelligent Cruise Control, automatic climate control, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and NissanConnect Services, which allows users to control specific vehicle features using apps on compatible smartphones or smart watches.

    All Versa models feature a standard 122-horsepower 1.6-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine, paired with a five-speed manual transmission (S only) or a smooth Xtronic CVT transmission (optional on S, standard on SV and SR).

    The Versa is known as the Nissan Almera in other markets including the Philippines. According to Nissan Philippines Inc., the 2022 Nissan Almera is designed to “challenge the standards,” and to reach new heights in style like never before.

    The Nissan Almera incorporates Nissan’s Emotional Geometry design language, resulting in lower, wider, and longer exterior dimensions while maintaining the sedan’s spacious interior space.

    The stunning details on the bumper, grille, and door handle add to the stylishness of the sedan’s exterior. The Almera is also distinguished by the boomerang-shaped headlights and tail lights. It also features an eye-catching aerodynamic design and new 16-inch alloy wheels.

    Under the Almera’s hood is a revolutionary 1.0-liter turbocharged HRA0 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 100ps at 5,000rpm, a maximum torque of 160Nm from 2,400 to 4,000rpm, and fuel consumption of 23.3kpl. The engine is mated to an Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).

    The all-new Almera’s engine is a game changer in its class, with its nimble handling, remarkable fuel efficiency, and plenty of power. It also has smoother pull-away and greater in-gear acceleration, which improves response. It lets the driver drive with full power on city streets, highways, and uphill roads by maximizing power and responsiveness.

    To further boost the driver’s confidence on the road, the Almera is equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, a suite of cutting-edge features that help make maneuvering safer and more convenient. This includes the intelligent around view monitor (AVM) which uses four cameras to provide the driver with a virtual 360-degree view of their surroundings, allowing them to park even in the tightest spots. When an object is detected moving nearby, it also sends out visual and audible alerts.

    Meanwhile, the intelligent emergency braking (IEB) alarms sound before automatic braking gets activated to reduce speed in the event of a potential accident. The Almera also comes with rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) which detects impending cars from both sides when parking and provides visible and audible warnings to the driver.

    It is also installed with a blind spot warning (BSW) system that gives audible and visual signals through the mirrors when another vehicle is detected on the blind spot areas. If the drive continues to move into that direction, further warning alerts will be activated. Meanwhile, the hill start assist (HSA) automatically holds the brakes when the driver moves from the brake pedal to the accelerator to keep the car from rolling backwards on uphill roads.

    The Nissan Intelligent Mobility also includes intelligent forward collision warning (IFCW), which generates audible and visual alerts when an abrupt slowdown occurs in front of the Almera. It also alerts the driver when it’s time to slow down.

    The Almera comes with front airbags as standard, as well as an anti-locking braking system (ABS) and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). It also comes with a vehicle dynamic control (VDC) system that monitors driver inputs and vehicle motion using various sensors. The system adjusts brakes and engine output in particular driving conditions to help keep the car on its directed path.
