Now you can have Apple CarPlay & Android Auto on your Mazda

MANILA: Filipinos have always looked at Mazda whenever they have wanted a stylish, sexy, and head-turning car. Furthermore, the cars by the Japanese manufacturer have been housing some really powerful and right for the job engines. However, something that we have always wished Mazda cars to have is Apple CarPlay and Andoird Auto connectivity for smartphone mirroring. After all these years, Mazda has finally answered our wish and brought out an update for its cars that enables us to mirror our smartphones and use various applications on the touchscreen infotainment system.

“There has been a strong demand for the Mazda Connect system to be able to work seamlessly with popular smartphone applications. We hear our customers and now we have made available the official Mazda hardware kit that expands Mazda Connect features to include navigation, music, and even search applications,” said Steven Tan, president, and CEO of Bermaz Auto Philippines.

The only prerequisites are - you need to have a Mazda car made in or after 2014 that has the Mazda Connect infotainment system. The fresh system comprises of a new module and better USB ports which support both data transfer and phone charging simultaneously. Thanks to the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Mazda owners can now mirror their smartphone screen on the larger infotainment system and use applications like Google Maps, Spotify, and many more.

With the newer infotainment system, the driver and occupants can use both the touchscreen and the center-mounted control knob to switch from one app to the other and change other settings. Moreover, users can also give voice commands to different applications while using the updated infotainment system.
