Stargazer gets spotlight in region-wide campaign for ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific has designated the Stargazer multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) as the hero car for the upcoming ASEAN Championship Hyundai Cup 2026 football tournament. 

The said initiative is a part of the “Hyundai, Driving ASEAN as One” regional campaign, which, the brand says, unifies the “spirit of football” across Southeast Asian countries by bringing vastly different cultures together through shared experiences in the sport. 

In this vein, the Stargazer was chosen for the campaign’s hero car because its very nature as an MPV can help bring people closer together through meaningful journeys. It likewise helps that the Philippines and, by extension, the ASEAN region, are a highly significant market for the MPV segment. 

“Hyundai Motor Philippines is proud to celebrate sportsmanship and the spirit of going the extra mile - whether on the road or in the pitch. Through this campaign, we aim to connect the passion for football with the Hyundai Stargazer, a vehicle designed to bring people closer together,” Hyundai Motor Philippines Managing Director Cecil Capacete said. 

“More than being a car company, we are committed to creating meaningful and memorable experiences for our customers, and we look forward to bringing the Hyundai Cup 2026 to the Philippines very soon,” Capacete added. 

ASEAN Championship Hyundai Cup 2026 is scheduled to kick off from July 24 to August 26, 2026. Notably, Hyundai is the title partner for the Southeast Asia-wide football tournament.

Hyundai Stargazer in PH

In the Philippine market, the Hyundai Stargazer has a price ranging from P1.118 million-P1.378 million, across four variants. 

Under the hood of the Hyundai Stargazer is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with the car brand’s intelligent variable transmission (IVT). At maximum, the said engine can produce up to 113 horsepower and 144 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. 

Inside the Stargazer is a seven-seater, three-row layout equipped with leather upholstery, automatic air-conditioning, a 60:40 split-folding second row, and a 50:50 split-folding third row. 

Other notable features of the Hyundai Stargazer include, but are not limited to:

• 10.25-inch digital gauge and infotainment display
• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Wireless smartphone charging pad
• Electronic parking brake with auto hold
• Roof rails
• LED exterior lighting
• Six-piece speaker set
• Smart key

Safety-wise, the higher trims of the Stargazer comes standard with the Hyundai Smartsense suite, which consists of Smart cruise control, forward collision avoidance assist, lane following assist, lane keep assist, blind spot collision avoidance assist, and manual speed limit assist - among others.
