PH-bound new MG ZS to be offered with non-hybrid trims

MANILA: The all-new MG ZS that will be launched in the Philippines next month will likely arrive in at least four trims.

Based on the recent homologation papers from the Land Transportation Office, the crossover from MG (Morris Garages) Motor Philippines is expected to have three internal combustion engine options. They are:

• MG ZS CVT Sport
• MG ZS CVT Luxury
• MG ZS CVT Comfort

All of the aforementioned variations are powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline-fed engine that allows them to go as fast as 185 kilometers per hour.

Their gross vehicle weight ranges between 1,688 to 1,823 kilograms — with the Comfort trim being the lightest, and the Sport coming as the heaviest.

The said MG ZS variations have the following measurements:

The three variations are expected to be offered alongside the all-new MG ZS HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) that was teased on the company’s recent save-the-date launch invitation and displayed at the Manila International Auto Show 2025.

Below are some bits of information about the MG ZS HEV:

The all-new MG ZS HEV features a new front fascia that houses redesigned LED headlamp housings (with daytime running lights), a beefier bumper and 18-inch alloy wheels.

For its interior, vehicle is outfitted with:

• 12.3-inch infotainment display (Apple CarPlay- and Android Auto-ready)

• Seven-inch digital instrument cluster
• Power adjustable driver seats
• Power sunroof
• Keyless entry system

Powering the all-new MG ZS HEV is a 1.5-liter gasoline-powered engine matched to an electric motor and a 1.83-kilowatt-hour battery that can dish out:

According to MG, the all-new ZS HEV has an average fuel consumption of 25 kilometers per liter.

Further, the soon-to-be-launched product boasts the latest MG Pilot advanced driver assist systems that include:

• Adaptive cruise control
• Active emergency braking
• Lane keep assist
• Lane departure warning
• Rear cross traffic alert
• Blind spot detection
• Forward collision warning
• Traffic jam assist
• 360-degree camera

The Philippine-bound all-new MG ZS is expected to be sold for less than P1 million to around P1.3 million.
