Production of Ford’s high performance Ranger Raptor beings

MANILA: Ford has now officially started the production of Ranger Raptor at their Thailand plant. A 90-second clip documenting the build process of the truck from initial stages to the finishing touch has been released by Ford Australia.

The Ranger Raptor is equipped with Ford’s new 2.0-litre biturbo EcoBlue twin-turbo diesel engine. It produces 213 PS and 500 Nm of torque which is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Whereas, the standard Ranger comes in two variants, a 3.2-litre straight five or a 2.2 turbo diesel that is paired with a 6-speed transmission.

The exterior design of the Ranger Raptor looks inspired from Ford’s F-150 including the wide fenders and tall ride height. A new frame-mounted front bumper and a massive embossed Ford logo on the grill are also introduced in this vehicle. Ford has equipped Ranger Raptor with 46.6 mm Fox Racing dampers and 17-inch wheels that are wrapped in 285/7BF Goodrich all-terrain tires.

The Ford Ranger Raptor is about to be launched this year in Thailand and Australia. It will be introduced in the Philippine market by late 2018. This powerful Ford vehicle is built with an EcoBlue twin-turbo diesel engine and a strong exterior body.
