Ford unveils PH-spec all-new Mustang

MANILA: Ford has revealed the all-new Mustang for the Philippine market. The seventh-generation offering was officially revealed during the local celebration of the nameplate’s 60th anniversary.

During the event, Ford Philippines Managing Director Michael Allen Breen announced that the pony car will arrive in May.

“The Mustang has undergone evolution over the last six decades, but one thing remains the same – the Mustang’s unparalleled driving performance that represents the spirit of freedom, passion, and innovation. We are thrilled to join the global celebration of Mustang’s 60th anniversary, but most of all, we are excited to open the next chapter for this icon with the launch of the All-New Mustang in the Philippines in May,” he said.

Exterior

Now wearing a more aggressive than ever, the all-new Ford Mustang features sharper lines and edges that express a more athletic look. At its fore are the tri-bar headlamps bordering the huge honeycomb grille while the side profile maintained the low-slung silhouette — complementing the bold line at the lower portion of the doors and the 19-inch aluminum wheels.

Meanwhile, the design of the rear portion draws a similar outline with the front as the taillamps also wears a tri-bar design.

Interior

Inside, the all-new Ford Mustang welcomes front occupants with Recaro sport leather seats, soft touch trimming all around, 12-inch digital cluster, magnesium-framed 13-inch colored center display with Sync 4 technology and enhanced voice recognition, and a wireless charging dock. 

Powertrain

Powering the all-new Mustang is either a 5.0-liter V8 engine or 2.3-liter mill — both mated to a 10-Speed automatic transmission. The bigger powertrain option can deliver 486 horsepower (hp) and 567 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque, while the smaller one, 315 hp and 475 Nm.

Both trims of the all-new Ford Mustang will come with Magneride damping system (then available exclusively to the top-of-the-line trim). Its stopping power comes from Brembo brake system.

Controlling the engine’s growl is the quad-tip exhaust with active valve functionality.

Technologies

The vehicle host of safety technologies under the Ford Co-Pilot360 technology that includes blind spot information system with cross traffic alert and braking, auto high beam headlights, post impact braking, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering assist function.

Aside from that, the all-new Ford Mustang features a pre-Collision assist with automatic emergency braking and evasive steer assist.

Customers can also connect with their All-New Mustang further through the FordPass app. With certain features such as the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor, Vehicle Status, and Vehicle Location, owners are supported with information before they take on the thrill of the open road.

Now available for pre-order, the all-new Ford Mustang can be had at the following trims (and their respective prices):

• Ecoboost Premium: P3.499 million
• GT Premium P3.999 million

Ford Philippines clarified that a reservation fee of P30,000 will be required for the reservation of a unit of the all-new Mustang, which is deductible from the total vehicle pricing.
