QSJ Motors PH to launch FAW Bestune Pony mini EV at 2024 PEVS

MANILA: QSJ Motors Philippines Incorporated (QSJ Motors PH), in partnership with FAW Bestune, is set to launch the Pony mini electric vehicle (EV) at the 2024 Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS). 

The aforementioned was shared by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) via a post on its official Facebook page. In the same social media announcement, it was mentioned that the FAW Bestune Pony EV will also be available for test drives at the said event. 

As a reminder, the 2024 PEVS is scheduled to kick off from October 24-26, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center Manila. 

For now, the specifications and pricing details for the mini EV model are yet to be disclosed by QSJ Motors PH. So, while we wait for the model’s debut PEVS week, let us take a look at its global specs. 

FAW Bestune Pony global specs

As it is classed as a mini EV, the Bestune Pony was clearly bought in to compete against the likes of the Jetour Ice Cream, BYD Seagull, and the VinFast VF 3. 

At maximum, the version sold in other parts of the world can generate up to 27 horsepower. According to the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle, it can also cover up to 170 kilometers from a single full charge.

Just like its would-be rivals, the Pony comes in the form of a three-door hatchback with a length spanning 3,000-millimeters (mm). It also has a width of 1,510-mm and a height of 1,630-mm.

Inside, the upcoming mini EV can accommodate up to four occupants, including the driver. Its other notable features include a two-tone exterior paint job, a drive mode selector, and a liquid crystal display gauge cluster - among others.

For the unaware, QSJ Motors PH has been exporting trucks and heavy equipment since 2010. Most of its products are from Tang Jun Ou Ling Shangdong Automotive Manufacturing Corporation Limited. 

Now, in 2024, the company is set on expanding its portfolio to electric-powered passenger vehicles, with the impending introduction of the FAW Bestune Pony.
