Say hello to the new Suzuki XL7

MANILA: Soon after the spy shots of Suzuki XL7 were leaked, the Japanese carmaker released its latest creation at a private event in Indonesia, revealing the design and interior intricacies of the car. Finally paving its way, the three-row, seven-seater Low SUV has been introduced in the domestic market.

With a length of 4450mm, width of 1775mm, and height of 1,710mm, the XL7 is designed to offer SUV design with ample cabin space and convenience of an MPV. Assembled at the Suzuki factory in Cikarang, the XL7 looks strikingly similar to the Maruti XL6.

One can distinguish XL7 with features like a black roof, black pillars, doors visors, unique 16-inch alloy wheels, and a rear upper spoiler. The major difference, however, lies on the inside of the car. The Indonesian model goes for practicality over comfort with a bench for three passengers instead of two captain seats in the second row.

XL7 carries the typical SUV rugged and boxier look, with full plastic claddings that go around the car. The front fascia features LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED combination tail lamps and dual bar radiator grille. Completing the styling is the metallic grooved skid plate.

There are quite interesting color options to choose from, including Pearl Burgundy Red, Rising Orange, and Brave Khaki. The top Alpha variant can be had in dual-tone paint finish as well.

The Suzuki XL7 is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, fueling out 104.7 PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of peak torque at 4,400 rpm.
It has been developed on the Japanese carmaker’s HEARTECT platform. A 5-speed manual and a four-speed automatic are two transmissions on offer.

Talking about the interior exquisites of the car, we are in awe of a smart and unique e-mirror, featuring the car. It is basically a front- and rear-facing high-resolution dashcam that’s fully integrated into the rear-view mirror. Recordings are automatically done behind the scenes, and the footage can be previewed via a set of buttons along the bottom of the mirror housing. XL7 also gets a slightly bigger 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Suzuki XL7 will be sold in Zeta, Beta and Alpha trim and will loosen your pockets for a worth of DR 230 million (Rs. 12.01 lakh) and it goes all the way up to IDR 267 million (Rs. 13.94 lakh).

Suzuki’s new creation is a combination of quite interesting features. As of now, there is no official word on its launch in the Philippines. We hope Suzuki PH will satisfy the loyal customer base, here as well.
