Suzuki Ciaz 2016 Finally Hits Philippine Showrooms
MANILA: The latest B-Segment sedan from Suzuki Motors was sure unveiled back in March, but it wasn’t up for sale in the showrooms. But almost 4 days after its expected launch at the Manila Auto Show, the Suzuki Ciaz 2016 was finally provided with the debut it deserved in the Philippines. We all know that the sub compact sedan segment is the most loved and profitable in the country and is one of the major driver when it comes to automobile sales in the Philippines. Hence, it is a clear cut strategy for any automotive manufacturer to launch their B-segment model for the filipino buyers, if they dream of becoming market leaders someday. Despite the high profitability, it is also pretty evident that B-Segment is one of the most competitive in the country with all the major players such as Honda, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet, Toyota and Ford etc.>
This doesn’t mean that Suzuki Philippines has anything to worry about as they enjoy high sales due to their affordable price tags and highly fuel-efficient engines and the same is also seen with the 2016 Ciaz. The subcompact sedan is presented in a total of 3 variants for the Philippines, namely the Ciaz GL M/T, Ciaz GL A/T and the highest trim being Ciaz GLX A/T. The prices have also been kept highly competitive and the buyers will certainly find it pretty affordable. The base variant is priced at PhP 738000, while the auto-transmission variant costs around PhP 773000. The highest GLX trim however is priced at 888000 million, which is still pretty affordable as compared to the new Vios. All three models come equipped with a 1.4-litre K14B engine, which also underpins the latest Suzuki Ertiga.
All the abovementioned information was already revealed by the manufacturers when the Suzuki Ciaz 2016 was showcased last month. Nevertheless, the Japanese automakers claim that the latest model has undergone several improvements related to both design and technology and will drive totally unlike the outgoing model. With more than 10 vehicles already running in this ‘rat-race’ of subcompact sedans, Suzuki have certainly strengthened their Philippine fleet through the latest Ciaz.
