Tesla Building A Minibus Based On Model X - Confirms Elon Musk

MANILA: The elite American automaker Tesla has released a news about its ongoing project. The founder of the electric cars brand – Elon Musk has recently tweeted that the company is working on a minibus which will be based on Tesla Model X. Sounds interesting to us! The company has not revealed much on these lines but since the news is out, there are numerous guesses and speculations in the automotive industry. The only known thing is that Tesla is really coming with an electric minibus and that would borrow the chassis and some features that of the highly popular and power-packed Tesla Model X – the electric crossover SUV.

Tesla Model X was launched in March 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show and grabbed the eyeballs of the visitors with its swanky look and performance-centric electric engine. This Model X is the cross version of the Tesla Model S and has the required appeal to attract people. Though Elon Musk has kept mum on further specs of the upcoming drive, but he has made it clear that the design and size would compact enough to accommodate the desired number of people while not blocking the road for other vehicles.

Recently Tesla hit the news headlines when its Model S was running on auto-pilot mode and crashed with a semi-trailer on a U.S highway in July 2016. The accident proved to be fatal for the driver and soon after that, the company released its condolence and a clarification on the safety. After the accident, Tesla has been more cautious on the safety front of the occupants in its cars especially with the auto-pilot mode. The new minibus is expected to pack a better engine than what the company is offering in the Tesla Model X right now to pull more load while an advanced version of the safety package is also in the queue.

As of now, there is no confirmation on the launch or release of the prototype. Auto enthusiasts suggest that this minibus is not going to appear anytime before 2018, but let's see if Tesla proves them wrong!
