The Glimpse of 2016 Honda Civic

MANILA: Sit and start Something Special, the 2016 Honda Civic with improvised interiors and VTEC Turbo power plant under its bonnet will be at your service soon, by the end of this year, as officially announced by Honda. According to American Honda Motor Co. Inc. Executive Vice President John Mendel, the tenth-generation Civic will have 'fun-to-drive performance in concert with top-in-class fuel efficiency and safety'.

The 2016 Civic Concept was showcased at the 2015 New York Auto Show but the recent spyshots of the interior of the forthcoming Honda Civic reveal that the traditional split-dashboard layout which featured a digital speedometer and a multi information display on the upper section of the dashboard has been replaced by a conventional layout. The center console has been adorned with an infotainment system that includes a music system, a single zone climate control system and a cubbyhole beneath it.

For the engine, the reports say that the new civic will be offered with a 1.8-liter i-VTEC and VTEC Turbo engine for the American market, and for the European market, it will carry the 1.6-liter diesel engine. The company is also targeting to touch an EPA fuel economy rating just above 40 miles per gallon. Honda stated that with this targeted rating, it may discontinue the hybrid and compressed natural gas variants in future. Mendel also disclosed that their next-gen fuel-cell vehicle will be premiered in 2016 which will then be followed by a plug-in hybrid and new all-electric car.
