Toyota has sold over 5.544-M cars in H1 2025

MANILA: Toyota Motor Corporation Limited has sold a total of 5,544,880 cars worldwide from January-June 2025. The said figure, which includes the company’s brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Daihatsu, and Hino, counts as its first increase in global sales in two years. 

To further break down the figure, a bulk of the manufacturing giant’s total sales in the aforementioned timeframe were made outside of Japan at 4,495,853 units. Its sales inside Japan for the first six months of 2025, meanwhile, tallied at 1,049,027 units. 

In June 2025 alone, the Japanese automotive company sold 937,246 units worldwide. Out of the figure, 179,925 units were sold in Japan, while 757,321 units were sold outside the company’s home country.

Under the Toyota and Lexus nameplates (excluding Daihatsu and Hino), Toyota Motor Corporation Limited’s global sales of hybrids (HEV), plug-in hybrid vehicles (HEV), mild hybrid vehicles (MHEV), fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEV), and battery electric vehicles (HEV) reached 2,492,321 units for the first six months of the year. 

In the same timeframe, HEV-type vehicles saw the biggest chunk of sales amongst the conglomerate’s electrified vehicles, with a worldwide figure of 2,233,048 units. 

When it comes to January-June 2025 production numbers, the company managed to make 5,523,039 cars worldwide. Out of the said number, 2,049,871 units were made in Japan, and 3,473,168 units were produced in other parts of the world. 

Toyota in PH

Per the most recent report from Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI) reflecting January-June 2025 local car sales, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) remains the market leader. Specifically, TMP saw 111,276 units sold in the first six months of 2025. 

The latest model introduced by TMP in the local automotive scene is the Yaris Cross SE - the model’s new top-of-the-line hybrid variant, retailing at P1.69 million.
