Toyota Moving Forward in Philippines with 1 Million Cars Already Sold

MANILA: With numbers like 1,000,468 vehicles sold over the past 26 years by Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), gives us an estimate that roughly every one out of 100 Filipino owns a Toyota car which can be either a Corolla, Camry, Innova, Prius, Fortuner, Revo, Altis, Wigo, Vios, Crown, or Cruiser. That's how pervasive the brand is in Philippines.

So, the TMP becomes the first automotive brand in the Philippines to sell one million of its cars, reaching that milestone just this April. With this, TMP grabs third place in Asia excluding Japan for its January to December sales. The number one and two positions are respectively held by Indonesia and Thailand.

The Toyota Japan has also crowned TMP with Excellent Quality Award for being the third top manufacturing company in the Asia and Middle East region. The brand also gave the overall marketing award to TMP for its record sales, market service, and market share.

This one-million milestone was celebrated at Makati Shangri-La on July 9 and was attended by officials of Japanese and Philippines government along with the VIPs of private sector and leaders of other rival companies.

TMP president Michinobu Sugata expressed his profuse gratitude towards the Philippine government and also showed hope, “The CARS program will further allow the continuity and competitiveness of the automotive manufacturing industry, leading to more jobs and revenue contributions to the Philippine economy.”

Further he ended with the mention of the trust and support of all Toyota dealers without whom achieving this milestone would not have been possible.
