Toyota PH announces winners of TGR Vios Cup leg 2

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced the winners of the second leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup. 

Held at the Clark International Speedway, the longest-running premier one-make-race series by TMP gave the brand’s fans a September to remember with exciting races in the event’s Circuit Championship category. 

Jarond Mesina (Toyota Team Cebu) dominated the Promotional Class of the TGR Vios Cup Leg 2 Circuit Championship. Alain Alzona (Toyota General Santos – Chooks to Go Racing Team) and Bong Garbes (Inbox – Toyota San Fernando) came in second and third, respectively. 

As for the Sporting Class of this leg’s Circuit Championship, Jiro Garbes (Inbox – Toyota San Fernando) was named champion. He was followed by Russel Cabrera (Toyota Team Cebu) and Maila Alivia (JBT Racing Team / Toyota Isabela), who clocked in second and third, correspondingly. 

Meanwhile, Joaquin Garrido (Obengers Racing Team) finished first in the Super Sporting Class, while Bryan Co (R Racing Team), and Red Diwa (JBT Racing Team / Toyota Isabela), followed suit in second and third. 

The second leg of the TGR Vios Cup also saw members of the motoring media, celebrities, and influencers compete in the Autocross Challenge category. 

Representing Carmudi Philippines and Zigwheels Philippines for the Autocross Challenge Promotional Media Class were Lyka Tan and Pattice Tenorio, who finished first and second, respectively. Mica Delos Reyes came in third.

As for the Sporting Media Class, Wowie Go was named champion. Earning second and third were Ronald Delos Reyes and John Rey San Diego. 

Further, the Sporting Influencer Class saw Ezra Domingo clinching first with Bianca Yao and Genesis Redido in second and third places. 

Finally, the TGR Vios Cup’s Sporting Class was dominated by Reph Bangsil. Migy Romulo followed in second and Lexi Mendiola in third.

TMP also staged a special Autocross Challenge featuring the Toyota Corolla Altis GR-S HEV. Here, Milo Rivera and Jose Altoveros, as well as Toyota Gazoo Racing Ambassador Marlon Stockinger competed for victory. Ultimately, Rivera was crowned champion. 

During the event, TMP also displayed its race-ready automobiles like the Toyota GR Supra, GR Yaris, and GR 86. Also making an appearance were the New-Generation Tamaraw Concept and the recently unveiled new Hilux GR-S. 

The TGR Vios Cup leg 2 was made possible through the help of the brand’s partner sponsors Bridgestone, Petron, Denso, 3M, AVT, ROTA, OMP, Tuason Racing, myToyota Wallet, and Kinto One.

Fans can catch the third and final leg of the one-make race on November 11, 2023.
